The Logic of the Mission

The Logic of the Mission

Oh, dear one.  Blood-bought, redeemed, dear one.  Can you hear the Savior calling you into the ministry of reconciliation? It would be enough for Him just to command us, would it not?  If the King says to His subject, “Go,” then surely that is enough reason to go.  Yet, in His desire to bring us into the heart of His command, He provides the logic.

“Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.  How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?” (Romans 10:13-14)

Consider these words from Packer…

“They must be told of Christ before they can trust him, and they must trust him before they can be saved by him.  Salvation depends on faith, and faith on knowing the gospel.  God’s way of saving sinners is to bring them to faith through bringing them into contact with the gospel.  In God’s ordering of things, therefore, evangelism is a necessity if anyone is to be saved at all.”

Truly, dear child of God, this is our duty.  This is our privilege.  This is our life!  Go!
