Prayer and Evangelism

Have you considered the power of prayer lately? Does God really hear? Does God really respond when we pray? Oh, how we need to believe what God clearly states in His Word. I love John Piper’s words about James 4:2(b)–“you have not because you ask not…” In a nutshell, Piper says that this means exactly what it says! Amen! (You can check out Piper’s 4 minute comment on You Tube.)

When we go out to proclaim the gospel, we have learned that prayer is critical. We often call prayer warriors to pray. We pray. God hears and God is serious about answering.

Consider these words from E.M. Bounds and from Ezekiel:

“Prayer is far-reaching in its influence and worldwide in its effects. It affects all men, affects them everywhere, and affects them in all things. It touches man’s interest in time and eternity. It lays hold upon God and moves Him to interfere in the affairs of earth. It moves the angels to minister to men in this life. It restrains and defeats the devil in his schemes to ruin man. Prayer goes everywhere and lays its hand upon everything.” E. M. Bounds

Ezekiel 22:30 So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one. 31 Therefore I have poured out My indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; and I have recompensed their deeds on their own heads, says the Lord God.

Please, dear saint, cry out to the living God for the salvation of souls. Make it a part of your life. Then, go into the world, and preach the gospel of salvation!
