Finding The Balance

Dear Christ follower . . . You do well that you yearn to see men, women, and children bow their knees to the Lord. You do well that you shake off the apathy and clothe yourself with the boldness He gives you to proclaim the gospel. You do well to learn to speak clearly and as articulately as you can when pointing others to Jesus. But . . . here’s the catch. Having done all of this (and more), you and I must never take upon ourselves what only God can do. Again, drink in these wonderful words from Packer . . .

“ . . . it is not right when we take it on us to do more than God has given us to do. It is not right when we regard ourselves as responsible for securing converts, and to look to our own enterprise and techniques to accomplish what only God can accomplish. To do that is to intrude ourselves into the office of the Holy Spirit, and to exalt ourselves as the agents of the new birth.”

Therefore, beloved, give it your all to sow the seeds. And then put the results into the hand of the God who alone can save! And . . . rejoice that you have the privilege to be a laborer in the harvest!
